Thandanani Centre is a psychiatric rehabilitation centre catering to people with a severe psychiatric disorder like schizophrenia and bi-polar disorder.  It is situated in a quiet leafy street in Florida.  One of the residences is found alongside the workshops and two other residences are situated a block away from the workshops.

The Centre is registered with the Department of Health and is licensed to accommodate 63 residents and 10 day patients.

Thandanani is a non-profit making organization, managed under the auspices of the Brothers of Charity, a world-wide Congregation of Catholic Brothers.  It is dedicated to providing a structured, supportive environment for psychiatrically disabled adults and helps its residents to live as independently as possible.

The staff consists of dedicated care-givers who build up a close relationship with the residents, providing them with guidance and counseling when needed.

Thandanani was started in 2001 and aims to remove the stigma attached to mental illness by helping its residents to integrate into the community and by helping to educated the public about mental illness.  Providing residents accept counseling and medical treatment, residents are able to lead full, happy and responsible lives.
